Regulated drives

  • Vítkovice Steel, a.s., Vítkovice, Czech Republic (2023) – reducing the energy intensity of TPT. As part of this project, it involved the supply of two identical regulated drives, the supply of the input HV substation and FKZ, all at the 6 kV level. The entire work was realized as a replacement for the aging Ward-Leonard apparatus. The project consists of three technological units, namely:
    • The object of a 6 kV substation with 10 fields, a filter-compensation device controlled by a COMPACT converter and a self-consumption cabinet with batteries and a self-consumption transformer.
    • DC drive objects consisting of a 6 kV/1 kV input transformer, 2x VARIANT power rectifiers, quick switches and smoothing chokes. The entire project is controlled by EMADYN controllers, which were connected to the superior SIEMENS system according to the customer's request. Part of the project was the laying of new power and control cabling, incl. of the turnkey project, until the approval documentation is drawn up.
